Can I publish the object (file) UPLOADED on Internet and make it downloadable without Object Storage account?
You can set the access right of uploaded object (file) to “Public” and obtain the URL for opening to the public to make users without Object Storage account share the objects (files).
In order to use Object Storage API, the key information is required. Where can I check it?
You can confirm these procedures.
(1) [User management] tab on the control panel (DomainAdmin privilege only)
-> Click a key icon.
(2) Account menu on the Storage console
-> Click the security certificate.
Confirm the API key in [Access key ID] and secret key in [See the secret key] on the Action menu.
What is the difference between GroupAdmin and User privileges?
GroupAdmin privilege is given to Administrator1 and means the privilege to manage the Object Storage group.
The following function can be executed with this privilege.
- Search users in the group.
- Browse or operate buckets or objects created by users in the group.
- Confirm the Object Storage usage rate in the group.
Users can do operations about buckets or objects created by themselves only.
What type of API is there?
For a list APIs supported, refer to “API list” in “Object Storage API Manual”.
What happened when uploading the objects (files) and locking the account (user) of Object Storage?
If the account (user) is locked, the Storage console tab is not displayed on the control panel, so you cannot log in the Storage console. Also you cannot download the objects (files) uploaded. You cannot download them when they are opening to the public. You cannot perform API operations.
However the usage capacity for Object Storage which uploaded objects (files) use will be charged while the said account (user) is locked.
Can the HTTPS connection to the API endpoint of Object Storage be established?
When using Object Storage, s3cmd (python) facilitates https connection.
Procedures at the time of this writing (September 12, 2013) is shown below.
1. Create a new virtual server (by official templates (CentOS6.3), East Japan region).
2. Obtain “s3cmd-1.5.0-alpha1.tar.gz” from external by the wget command.
3. # tar zxvf s3cmd-1.5.0-alpha1.tar.gz
4. # cd s3cmd-1.5.0-alpha1
5. # ./s3cmd –configure
6. Enter the access key.
7. Enter the secret key.
8. Encryption password: (Enter any string.)
9. Path to GPG program [/usr/bin/gpg]: (Press Return.)
10. Use HTTPS protocol [No]: Y
11. Test access with supplied credentials? [Y/n] n
12. Save settings? [y/N] y

14. Confirm if it is available or not.

Error message “Already exists” appears when creating a bucket.
A bucket name must be set uniquely in the entire system. When you create a bucket with the bucket name which is already used by other user, the error message “Bucket name “xxx” already exists” appears. Use a different bucket name to create it.
Login screen appears when starting the Storage console.
When you start the Storage console, the error message “Session timeout. Try login again.” appears and the login screen appears*, change your browser to the recommended browser Firefox.

Is there a client for Object Storage, which is running on Windows?
Perform the following on your responsibility. It works on Windows 7.
When logging in, the error message “An unexpected error occurs in user interface” appears.
Use Cloudn-recommended browser Firefox 18.0.1 or later to clear caches and cookies, restart the browser and retry.
If the problem is not resolved, contact our support with tickets.
I want to attach a unique domain to public URL of Object Storage.
The following setting allows to associate the unique domain and domain provided by Object Storage ([bucket name].str.cloudn-service.com) with your unique domain.
・ Domain: abc.com
・ Domain associated: xxx.abc.com
・ Bucket name: xxx.abc.com
(Note: The bucket name must be the same as the name of domain associated)
・ Contents file: yyy.html
・ Permission: Readable with Public
* Confirm that xxx.abc.com.str.cloudn-service.com/yyy.html is accessible and perform settings on the name server.
Host name: Target: Type
xxx ：xxx.str.cloudn-service.com ： CNAME
・dig xxx.abc.com cname

Is there any client software for using Object Storage service?
Claudian offered by Cloudian Inc. is used for Cloudn Object Storage service. Becase Cloudian is compliant with S3 API(http://www.cloudian.jp/cloud-storage-products/cloudian.html) offered by Amazon Web Services, Inc., you can use the client tool(http://www.cloudian.jp/cloud-storage-products/S3-REST-API-ecosystem.html) compliant with S3 API.
Please refer to the official site about the detail of the client tool.
Show the initial setting procedures in order to make a contract of Cloudn and use Object Storage.
When you make a contract of Cloudn, the guide for Cloudn is sent to the registered E-mail address.
Confirm the “guide for Cloudn” and follow these steps for setup.
Step 1: Logging in the control panel
Enter the user name, password and account ID and log in the control panel.
Step 2: Creating the Object Storage account
Click the storage icon on the [User management] menu on the control panel.

Step 3: Reloading the browser
When reloading the browser, the Storage console tab is displayed on the right of Compute console.
Step 4: Starting the Storage console
Click the Storage console tab to start the console.
Step 5: Create a bucket from the Explorer menu and upload the objects (files) to that bucket.

What is the uploadable maximum object (file) size?
5 TB. However note followings.
When uploading it from the Storage console, the maximum object (file) size is 2 GB per upload due to specifications of Cloudn-recommended browser Firefox. If the object size exceeds 2 GB, use API for uploading.
When using the API to upload, the maximum object (file) size per put is 500MB. If the object size exceeds 500MB, perform multipart upload and upload it by several requests.
* The maximum number of divisions of multipart is 10000.
How many objects (files) can be uploaded per user?
No limit for the number of uploadable objects (files). The number of buckets which can be created per user is 100.
What is the maximum object (file) size per upload?
When uploading it from the Storage console, the size is up to 2 GB due to specifications of Cloudn-recommended browser Firefox. When using the API to upload, the size per put is up to 500MB.
